Thirteen emerging artists from SAIC’s Advanced Fiber and Material Studies class employ a variety of mediums and processes to address ideas of space and habit. Customary textile processes such as knitting, weaving, printing and embroidery are prevalent in these artists’ exploration of what it means to inhabit or create a space while addressing individual conceptual concerns. Works ranging from large scale floor installations to intimate artist books are among the venues used to expand upon these traditional processes.
